Toy drive receives help from school

Hi everybody,

I had a quick note from Kristen Hollery last week that the St. Paul’s Family Resources Institute held their Christmas ‘toy store’ on December 15. St. Paul’s had a lot of help from John W. MacLeod-Flemming Tower elementary school on Purcell’s Cove Road. The school ran a toy drive to contribute to St. Paul’s.

Also on Wednesday, the food bank at St. Paul’s gave out its Christmas hampers, which contain a full turkey dinner, as well as goodies such as toiletries or candy that St. Paul’s has been able to save up in order to make the hamper extra special.

Katimavik volunteers were helping with both these events. St. Paul’s is usually able to give away about 125 hampers to families in need in our community.

Please remember that if you wish to give to the food bank this holiday season, the most needed items are nutritious non-perishable staples such as pasta, beans, and cereals.
