Halifax Regional Police is expecting a busing weekend in the downtown core.

Halifax Regional Police is pleased to once again be participating in the 23rd Annual Pride Parade. The parade takes place tomorrow commencing at 1 p.m. from Cornwallis and Upper Water Streets and will travel south on Barrington Street, west on Spring Garden Road, north on South Park Street, onto Bell Road and then finishing on Ahern Avenue. Roads will be closed to allow the parade to travel along the route and should be concluded by approximately 3 p.m.

The concert on the Halifax Commons featuring the Black Eyed Peas along with a number of other bands also takes place on Saturday. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. with the first act taking to the stage at 2 p.m. The concert should be concluded by 11 p.m. and at this time there are no expected road closures planned.

Both of these events are expected to draw a lot of spectators. Police encourage anyone attending either the parade or concert to consider using public transportation or car pooling to reduce the amount of traffic in the downtown area. Motorists should expect delays in these areas and are also reminded that parking is limited and vehicles in violation will be ticketed and possibly towed. We thank citizens in advance for their patience.
