A motor vehicle crash this morning involving a transport truck led to significant traffic disruptions in Dartmouth. The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Akerley Boulevard near Wilkinson Avenue. Halifax Regional Police responded to the scene, where they found the transport truck overturned.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Due to the accident, Akerley Boulevard was closed to inbound traffic from both Highway 107 and Highway 118 for an extended period. Police directed traffic away from the area and advised motorists to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

The roadway was eventually cleared and reopened by 1:30 p.m., allowing traffic to resume normal flow.
