Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Transit is advising passengers to prepare for schedule and service adjustments that will affect a number of bus routes, including the MacKay Bridge shuttle, going into effect next week.
Halifax Harbour Bridges has advised that it should conclude the all-weekend bridge closures on the Macdonald Bridge by the end of 2016. Therefore, beginning on Monday, Nov. 28, Halifax Transit will discontinue the Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday daytime MacKay Bridge shuttle service that has been in place as a result of the Big Lift project. Bus routes that normally travel the Macdonald Bridge will instead operate on detours across the MacKay Bridge, until such time that the Macdonald Bridge reopens on weekends.
Please note that the Sunday to Thursday evening MacKay Bridge shuttle service will continue at this time. Halifax Transit will also continue to implement Macdonald Bridge Shuttles on Sunday to Thursday evenings should the Macdonald Bridge be open unexpectedly.
Passengers are also advised that a number of other bus routes will have schedule adjustments go into effect on Monday, Nov. 28; please see updates for each affected bus route at www.halifax.ca/transit/adjustments.
We appreciate your patience we continue to manage the effects of the Macdonald Bridge closures on Halifax Transit services.
