Two Car/Pedestrian Accidents On Thursday

At 6:04 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a car- pedestrian accident at Lacewood Drive at Fairfax Drive.

The driver of the vehicle, a 63 year old male, stopped at the red and then went to turn right. When he started there was a pedestrian in front of his vehicle. He bumped the 53 year old male who fell, but was uninjured.  No charges were laid at the scene, the file remains under investigation.
 
 
At 7:37 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a car-pedestrian accident on Barrington Street near Upper Water Street. The driver, a 24 year old female, was traveling North bound when a male stepped into the road way, she struck the male and he fell to the ground. The male was taken to the QE2 with serious injuries. At the time of the accident the male was dressed in dark clothing, stepped into the road and was not in a crosswalk. The pedestrian a 61 year old male was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for not for crossing the street in a crosswalk and a Criminal Code beach charge for which he will attend court at a later date.
