Two Cities, Two Head Injuries, Two Mysteries

Injured Person – 11 p.m. – A caller reported that a male was lying on the street at the top of Trinity Avenue in Dartmouth. Responding officers found an intoxicated 37-year-old male semi-conscious on the street with what appeared to be a serious head injury. He was transported to hospital by EHS. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time. It is still not known how he sustained them. The matter remains under investigation.

Injured Person – 12:25 a.m. – Two HRP beat officers were advised by a passerby of a pool of blood with a hat and glasses nearby on the sidewalk in front of the police station on Gottingen Street. The officers located the blood and a 25-year-old intoxicated male nearby who was suffering from a head injury. He was transported to hospital, and later released (from hospital). Officers have interviewed him but have not been able to ascertain how he sustained his injuries. The investigation will remain open and be followed up on.
