Two homes invaded, one victim shot – Lunenburg District

At 4:33 a.m., Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting a home invasion. Two men broke into a home on Natural Forest Lake Rd. in Upper Cornwall. During the incident a shotgun was discharged by one of the suspects.

At 5:07 a.m., RCMP were notified that there was a man at the South Shore Regional Hospital who had been shot. This was not the same victim from the earlier incident. Police have determined that two homes were invaded and in the second instance, in a home on Cornwall Rd., a shotgun was discharged by one of the suspects resulting in an injury to the victim’s foot. His injuries are not life threatening.

Lunenburg District RCMP have not made any arrests. They have called in additional resources, including an RCMP Dog, members of the General Investigation Section and Street Crime Enforcement Units from Lunenburg District and received assistance from Bridgewater Police Service during the initial response. The RCMP is searching for suspects and the investigation is ongoing. More information will be released when it is available.
