RCMP investigates stabbing in Lower Sackville

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a complaint of a stabbing at approximately 1:15 this morning in the 400 block of Sackville Dr.

It was reported that a 39-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when a suspect walked up to the victim and stabbed him several times. It is not known what​ kind of weapon was used.​ The suspect then walked away and was last seen on Sackville Dr. walking towards Downsview Mall.

The parties are not known to one another. The suspect​ is described as a black man wearing dark clothing, approximately 5-foot-10 and​ 30 years old,​ with cornrows​ pulled back into a ponytail.​

The victim​ was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.​ ​

A K-9 Unit from the Halifax​ Regional Policeattended but the suspect was not located.

The investigation is ongoing.
