Police Investigate Break & Enter & Arrest Suspect – Dartmouth

At 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to multiple reports of a Break & Enter in progress at an apartment building in the 60 block of Highfield Park Drive Dartmouth.​ Upon police arrival officers located a nude 43 year old male assaulting another tenant.​ Officers subdued and arrest the suspect.​

Officers discovered the suspect had damaged several fire equipment cases inside the building and assaulted an adult female on another floor.​ The suspect then forced an apartment open and once inside removed his clothing and in doing so was confronted by the tenant of the apartment.​ The suspect then assaulted the tenant, an adult male.​ This when officers arrived.​ Paramedics checked both the female and male victims for minor injuries.

Investigators believe the suspect was impaired by an unknown narcotic and the assaults and break and enter are random.​ The suspect is held for court and will be facing charges of Break & Enter, Property Damage (Mischief) and Assault.​

Police Investigate Weapons Call (Shooting) – Spryfield

At 2:06 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report gun shots at 649 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield.​ Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a shooting had taken place with several bullet holes in the main floor of the residence, no one was injured.​A number of officers are currently on scene, including Forensic Identification members.​

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation which is in the early stages.​ ​
