14, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Birch Cove Beach in Dartmouth and Malay Falls Beach near Sheet Harbour are closed to swimming until further notice due to high bacteria levels.

Employees regularly test the water quality at its supervised municipal beaches and recent test results indicate that bacteria levels at these two beaches currently exceed Health Canada swimming guidelines. The municipality will advise residents when the beaches reopen.
