Two people face charges after search, Pictou, N.S.

Charges are pending against two adults, one male and a female after a search in the community of Central West River. Yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), along with the assistance of the Pictou County RCMP and the RCMP's Police Dog Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Gates Road in Central West River.

Charges are pending against two adults, one male and a female after a search in the community of Central West River.

Yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), along with the assistance of the Pictou County RCMP and the RCMP’s Police Dog Service, executed a search warrant at a residence on Gates Road in Central West River.

A 21-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were arrested without incident. Police seized approximately 36 grams of cocaine, 3 marijuana plants and almost 3.5 kilograms of dried marijuana, a quantity of cash and an ATV.

The female accused was released and will be appearing in Pictou Provincial court on October 20th, 2014. The male was held and will be appearing in court this morning. Charges include Production of Marijuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marijuana and cocaine) and Trafficking in Marijuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The investigation continues.
