North End Halifax residents got a surprise yesterday morning as they awoke to a loud noise coming from the Oland Brewery on Agricola Street. CTV Atlantic is reporting that the strange rumbling sound was caused during a routine vacuum procedure at the facility.
A spokesperson for Oland's said that the sound was an error and acknowledged that as a result the brewery was in violation of the HRM noise bylaw stating that loud activities can not take place until after 9am on a Sunday.
