Update: Fatal house fire in Pubnico Head

The Nova Scotia RCMP Major Crimes Unit has conducted a preliminary investigation into the fatal house fire in Pubnico Head and determined at this time it is not suspicious. As a result, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service has assumed the lead of the investigation under the Nova ScotiaFatality Investigations Act. The RCMP is continuing to assist the Medical Examiner’s Service and providing resources.

“This is an absolute tragedy and the RCMP extends our sincerest condolences to the family members of the victims and to the community of Yarmouth,” says RCMP Cpl. Jen Clarke. “There are no words to express this type of devastation.”

The RCMP continues to offer our support and condolences to our community and our employees who have been greatly affected by this loss.
