Update in relation to weapon complaint investigation

Police were called shortly after 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning in relation a report of a man carrying what was believed to have been a rifle wrapped in black cloth. While investigating that complaint, a second call was received at 11 a.m. where a man had left a firearm on a Halifax Transit bus. This man was quickly taken into custody and is expected in Halifax Provincial Court later this morning.  An unloaded sawed-off shotgun was seized.
 
Investigators continue to look into the initial incident.
