Update: One man in custody after stabbing in Timberlea, Timberlea, N.S.

The RCMP / HRP Integrated GIS Unit have charged a 24-year-old Timberlea man with a multitude of charges following a stabbing incident yesterday.

Shortly before 3 p.m.

, Halifax District RCMP and Emergency Health Services responded to a report of a stabbing on Wedgewood Avenue. Preliminary investigation determined that a 21-year old man had been stabbed in the middle of the street by another man. The victim was rushed to the QEII Hospital with serious injuries. A 24-year-old suspect was arrested nearby without incident and was taken into custody. The victim remains in ICU and is expected to recover.

James Morgan Hardiman remains in custody and is facing several charges including Attempted Murder, Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The investigation is continuing.
