Update: RCMP arrest suspect in May hit and run incident, Chester Basin, N.S.

Lunenburg District RCMP has arrested a 25-year-old male wanted in relation to a hit and run that occurred in Chester on May 30, 2015, where one car rear-ended another eastbound vehicle, sending the struck vehicle off the road and flipping it onto its roof.

On January 6 at approximately 7:45 p.m., police attended a residence on Highway 3 in Chester Basin and arrested Adam Jerome Dempsey. Dempsey will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court today at 1:30 p.m. and face several charges, including Sexual Interference, Sexual Assault, Uttering Threats, Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Attend Court, three counts of Mischief, three counts of Breach of Probation and four counts of Failure to Comply with Recognizance.

A co-accused in the hit and run, 25-year-old Christopher Ross Dempsey, was previously arrested on an outstanding warrant and has a trial scheduled for February 2 at 9:30 a.m. in Bridgewater Provincial Court.
