Updating, Improving Government Website

Visitors to government’s website, novascotia.ca, will notice some changes starting today, Oct. 2, as updates and improvements are made to make program and service information easier to access. Content from five department websites, Business, Service Nova Scotia, Finance and Treasury Board, Internal Services and Communications Nova Scotia, will move onto a new beta site. Other departments are targeted to move their content to the improved site in phases through this year and next year. The updated pages will become visible over the next 24 hours. The timing depends on a user’s internet provider. The changes will improve accessibility, reduce duplication and make it easier to search, find and connect to content on the same topic, even when it belongs to different departments. Over 3.2 million people viewed government’s websites in 2017. Seventy-three per cent of them were looking for a specific task or topic.
