Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting citizens and tourists to participate in an educational hour and a half guided walk under the majestic urban canopy near Dalhousie University.

Peter Duinker will lead a walking tour around the streets of south end Halifax to talk about the challenges and rewards of maintaining a healthy urban forest in residential neighbourhoods.

This is the last of three urban forest walkabouts planned for the summer through a partnership between the municipality and Dalhousie University.

Participants are asked to meet at the doors to the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building (6100 University Ave.). While the tour will have some structure to it, there’s no obligation for tour participants to remain on the tour for the entire 90 minutes.
