Vancouver, BC

As you know, I currently live in the Northern Arctic Tundra.  Right now it’s cold, dark and snowy.  My motivation to exercise is low as I’m a big fan of exercising outside and also a big fan of being able to leave my house when it’s not -40C outside.

The closest city to Yellowknife is Edmonton, Alberta, which is about an 18-hour drive away (1,500km) so this means we don’t get out of town much.  In fact, we haven’t been out of YK since the day we arrived on June 2nd and with all of the cold and darkness lately, we needed to change this.

We booked our flights to Vancouver, British Columbia a few weeks ago, a nice five-day trip out of the arctic and in “the big city”.  We had never been to Vancouver and we were both very excited to do some shopping and eat some amazing ethnic foods that we can’t get here.

I knew we were going to love it in Vancouver, but I didn’t realize that I would FALL in love with it.  Mountains. The Pacific Ocean. Farmers Markets. Restaurant after restaurant. A GNC. A Brewery.  It has everything we don’t have in Yellowknife.

It was a great trip and I’m going to stop talking now and let my picutres tell you the rest of the story.
