Vehicle stop leads to drug charges, Wagmatcook, N.S.

Wagmatcook RCMP arrested a woman for drug trafficking during the evening of May 8th. At approximately 7 p.m., RCMP conducted a vehicle stop along highway 105 in the community of Wagmatcook in relation to a possible distracted driver.

At approximately 7 p.m., RCMP conducted a vehicle stop along highway 105 in the community of Wagmatcook in relation to a possible distracted driver.

Police investigation led officer’s to discover the 21 year-old driver and sole occupant in the car was found to be in possession of a quantity of Oxycodone , marijuana and cash.

The woman is facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released from police custody and will appear in Baddeck Court on September 8th, 2014. The investigation is continuing.

The RCMP is committed to enforcing drug laws to their fullest extent; however we require the assistance of the public to eliminate harmful drug trafficking from taking place in our community.
