Victoria County RCMP are currently at the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., RCMP, EHS and the Big Bras d’Or Volunteer Fire department responded to a report of a man trapped inside a tractor trailer that was flipped on its roof on Kelly’s Mountain.

Preliminary investigation determined that the lone occupant of the vehicle was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a sharp turn at the bottom of a hill. The truck ended up in the ditch on the Campbellton Road near Highway 105. The driver was not hurt and has since been removed from the vehicle. The cargo of the trailer was general merchandise for various stores in the Industrial Cape Breton area.

RCMP expect it will take some time to get the truck out of the ditch but advise that traffic is flowing normally on Highway 105. The investigation is continuing.
