N.S. BUSINESS INC.–-New Appointment to Board

The chair of Nova Scotia Business Inc.’s (NSBI) board of directors, Janice Stairs, today, Dec. 8, announced the appointment of Marie Mullally to the board.

“NSBI’s board is made up of some of the top business minds from communities throughout the province, representing a diverse range of sectors and business interests,” said Ms. Stairs. “We are pleased to welcome this experienced leader to NSBI’s board.”

Ms. Mullally is the president and chief executive officer of Credit Union Atlantic, the largest credit union in Nova Scotia. She has held the positions of president and CEO of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation and executive director of Service Delivery and Operations, Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Ms. Mullally has a history of community and business development activities through her participation on a number of boards, including the Halifax International Airport Authority, Queen Elizabeth II Health Foundation, and International Women’s Forum. Ms. Mullally has been recognized by the Top 50 CEO Awards by Atlantic Business Magazine in 2007 and 2008.

“I would also like to recognize Dan Christmas and Bert Lewis for the valuable contributions they have both made during their time on the board,” said Ms. Stairs.

Both men are leaving the board.

Board vice-chair Ray Ivany has reoffered to serve a second term.
