Video: Renaming Cornwallis Jr High

Halifax Regional School Board Mi'kmaq representative Kirk Arsenault and well known author of We Were Not The Savages, Daniel Paul, react to the board's unanimous decision to rename Cornwallis Junior High School, out of respect to the Mi'kmaw community. The school is named after Edward Cornwallis, an 18th century British military leader and governor of Nova Scotia, who is said to have offered to pay for every Mi' kmaq kidnapped or killed.
