Vintage love: MakeNew launch party!

L-A: No shoe porn today. Sad trombone.

On the bright side, we do have an invite for you.  We’re not throwing the party, but we’ll definitely be there.  Love, Me Boutique (which I am highly biased in favour of) and Anna Gilkerson (formerly of Deux Fm) are teaming up to bring you Let’s Get Dressed.

The party is the launch of Anna’s latest project – MakeNew Vintage.  MakeNew is described as an “edited approach to vintage shopping.” To me, that means vintage shopping for people like me. As I’ve said before, I don’t have the patience to dig for that vintage gem at the bottom of a Frenchy’s pile. I need someone else to do it and curate it into a fabulous collection for me. And thank heavens people like Anna are willing to do this for me! And then teaming up with a local store? Even easier for me.  It’s the only way I’ll ever get my hands on vintage items by Dior or Valentino (oh yes, you read right. She’s got some serious designer vintage happening). Or on those fantastic vintage pieces by designers unknown. The pieces I skip past when I do, on occasion, dig for them.

So when/where is this party and how can you get your hands on the collection? It all goes down from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at Love, Me Boutique. There will be cider, baked goods and some seriously discounted Deux Fm pieces. The MakeNew collection is called Coastal Countryside Chic and it will be a mix of tweeds and leathers, knits and laces.  It all adds up to a sustainable fashion dream come true.

p.s. yes! there is a 30% off coupon in that image. This party just keeps on getting better. I think it’ll be a favourite Friday for a lot of people.

Ally: My husband should expect to receive an “appointment” message in his outlook calendar any second. This is how we passive agressively book nights out of the house while the other is relegated to sitting on the couch, watching tv and listening to a baby monitor. This week, my friends, this week I will win.
