Violent Robbery In Middle #Sackville This Morning. 2 Arrested.

Below is a release from the RCMP. This explains the heavy police presence around Kent this morning:

“Halifax District RCMP is investigating a robbery with violence that occurred earlier this morning on Colgrove Ave.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of a robbery with violence. Preliminary investigation determined that two armed men entered a residence and confronted the residents. The three residents, a 48-year-old man, a 44 year-old woman and a 13-year-old youth were allegedly tied up by the suspects who then stole items from the residence. The suspects then fled from the scene in a vehicle. The victims, who were not hurt during this incident, were able to free themselves to call police.
Subsequent investigation allowed police to intercept a suspect vehicle with two occupants in it. A 34-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested in Lower Sackville without incident. They remain in custody and will be facing several charges. This was not a random act. The investigation is continuing
If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please call Halifax RCMP or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by a Secure Web Tips at http://www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 – $2000.”

About Jeff Nielsen

For people who love Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia! A lot of us lovingly call it “Sack-Vegas” which I personally find hilarious. I hope to have this column be a place for us to discuss our hometown, poke fun at ourselves (nothing too derogatory about our town though), post some old or current pics….whatever we want to do with it.
