Volunteer mentors sought for youth program

Chebucto Connections is looking for volunteer mentors:----We are currently recruiting personal and professional mentors for our twelve participants in the Second Chance Program. This intensive program runs for a 10-month period, Monday through Friday, from 9 am-3 pm. Our curriculum focuses on building entrepreneurial, employability and life skills. For more information on the program, please visit www.ceed.ca and click on Youth Development.If you, or someone you know, is interested in helping a young person through an important transition in their lives over the next year, please email Sabrina at (spoirier@ceed.ca) or fax (482-0291). We’ll be carefully reviewing applications to ensure we match participants with mentors who share common ground, either personally or professionally with them.This commitment involves spending a minimum of one hour every two weeks, for the next year, with an assigned participant. (A minimum of 24 hours.) Mentors will also need to attend a Program Orientation (2 hours) and participate in at least two group check-ins (2 hours each) during the year.
