Warrant issued for Dartmouth man
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 24-year-old Shontez Oshay Dechamp in relation to an incident that occurred on May 12 in Clayton Park.
The province wide warrant for Dechamp was issued yesterday morning and he faces the following charges: mischief (renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective), mischief (causes danger to life), mischief (over $5000), theft of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police officer, property damage and breach of probation.
On May 12 at approximately 11:20 a.m. an officer witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Bayview Road at Woodbank Terrace.
The officer activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to pull over; the officer did not pursue the vehicle.
Police subsequently located the vehicle a short distance away. It had collided with a house in the 100 block of Clayton Park Drive. No one was injured in the home. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. A K-9 team track was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Police are asking for anyone who sees Dechamp or has information on his whereabouts to call 902-490-5016. Do not approach or confront this person.
