Weather Statement released for Friday/Halloween (Posted 5am Oct 29)

Special Weather Statement in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Rain and strong winds expected on Halloween (Friday).

Locations: Nova Scotia.

Potential rainfall: 30 to 50 mm, with higher amounts possible.

Potential wind gusts: southeasterly 70 to 80 km/h, except up to 110 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence.

Remarks: There remains some uncertainty as to where the highest rainfall amounts will occur, but the potential exists for significant totals over some locations. Warnings may be required for some areas.

Secure outdoor items such as Halloween decorations and garbage bins so they don’t blow around in strong winds.
