Weather statement: Up 40 mm of rain possible (Jul 27 11am report)

Heavy rainfall is expected tonight.

Hazards: Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm, locally higher in thunderstorms.

Location: Nova Scotia.

Timing: Beginning this evening, ending Friday morning.

Remarks: Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into southwestern Nova Scotia this evening, and move east overnight. Rain will begin tapering off from west to east, early Friday morning.

Heavy rainfall can lead to localized flooding.
