Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warning and watch for the area:

“At 6:00 PM radar is detecting a line of strong thunderstorms extending from Southeastern New Brunswick to Amherst to east of Parrsboro to West Hants to Mahone Bay. The thunderstorms are moving northeastward at 20 km/h. These thunderstorms are producing heavy downpours intense lightning and hail but could also produce strong gusty winds.

This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes..Listen for updated warnings.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms. The main threat is heavy downpour and frequent lightning however hail and damaging wind gusts are possible.”
