Impaired driving charges, fatal car/bus accident and a sexual assault on the commons over the weekend.

At 0449 Police responded to 6324 Quinpool Rd (McDonald's)  Police officer attempted to speak to driver and he put vehicle in drive and hit unattended police vehicle. Driver arrested for impaired driving and operating stolen vehicle.

At 3:05 pm a 2 vehicle Motor Vehicle Accident (one car and one bus) occurred. Purcell's Cove Rd at Frog Pond. Fatal MVA. 83 year old female deceased at the scene. Name will not be released pending next of kin notification. Members of the  accident investigation and forensic identification teams are on presently on scene investigating the accident.

Sexual Assault

2300 block of Robie St., Halifax (northwest corner of Halifax Commons)

At 8:45 p.m. the victim was pushing her baby in a stroller and was approached by a white male, mid 30's with "buzzed" dark hair, scruffy facial hair, long face with a long nose, droopy eyes, blue button up shirt with sleeves rolled up and tan shorts carrying a brown shoulder bag. The suspect grabbed the victim by the waist and buttocks and commented on how good she looked. No injuries resulted. This matter remains under investigation.

Traffic stop results in Drug trafficking charges

Moirs Mill Rd/ Bedford Hwy, Bedford

At 9:40 p.m. HRP's West Division Community Response Officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.
Further investigation by officers resulted in marijuana, scales, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and cash being seized from the vehicle. 3 YO's and 1 adult have been charged with trafficking and will be released on conditions to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
