1. Tune into live jazz, blues, roots and world music from more than 500 performers over nine nights and eight days! The TD Halifax Jazz Festival presented by JazzEast, is the oldest jazz festival and largest summer festival in Atlantic Canada.

The event spans two weekends (9 nights, 8 days), attracts up to 55,000 visitors, involves 450 volunteers and employs over 350 local musicians. There’s so much to see, hear and do for the whole family during this amazing summer festival, so be sure to get out and enjoy!

2. Since 1950, the Maritime Fiddle Festival has been the source for lively entertainment, spirited and fun competition, and traditional Nova Scotian hospitality. It has grown from a small fundraiser originally organized to help build a community church, to Canada’s longest running old-time fiddle festival and competition. Every year the festival welcomes participants, bus tours, and audiences from across North America and around the world.Whether you are a fiddle player interested in competition or just have a love of great music, join in for some of the best old-time fiddle entertainment anywhere in the world.

3. Featuring over 2,000 world-class Canadian and international military and civilian performers, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo continues to live up to its reputation as one of the world’s premiere cultural and entertainment events. The Tattoo strikes a unique balance, featuring pipes & drums, military and civilian bands, historic re-enactments, dancers, acrobats, choirs, military displays and competitions, drama and comedy in a fast-paced, two and half hour, family show. It’s one event you don’t want to miss!

 4. Calling all Minecraft players…join us at the Keshen Goodman public library for an afterhours Minecraft Party on Sunday July 6th from 1pm-4pm. Ages 8-18

5. With Arthur on the way, you might just want to hole up and watch Arthur (nothing like hurricane humour!). If your kids would like to learn some more about hurricanes, head here!
