Weekend Wrap-up: July 6-7, 2013

1. Come spend a day on the water at the 16th annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Banook in Dartmouth on Saturday July 6th. Lots to see and do during this fun family event! 2.

 Featuring over 2,000 world-class Canadian and international military and civilian performers, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo continues to live up to its reputation as one of the world’s premiere cultural and entertainment events. The Tattoo strikes a unique balance, featuring pipes & drums, military and civilian bands, historic re-enactments, dancers, acrobats, choirs, military displays and competitions, drama and comedy in a fast-paced, two and half hour, family show. 3. Listen as the city comes alive with the sweet sounds of Jazz during the annual TD Halifax Jazz Festival on from July 5-13th. Lots of free concerts at various locations around the city on both Saturday and Sunday! On Monday there is a concert aboard Theodore Tugboat! 4. Come check out the 64th annual Maritime Fiddle Festival at its new venue at the Dartmouth East Community Centre.  Daily concerts on the weekend, step dancing, a kitchen party and more! 5. The fireworks are back on! They go off tonight, Friday the 5th at 10pm in both Halifax and Bedford! As well Glow Parties have all their bouncy castles and entertainment going from 7:00pm-10 at DeWolfe Park in Bedford. 6. Bring your imagination and creative spirit and join the Art Bikers in celebrating their launch week! On Saturday, from 10:30-1:00 they will be at Fuller Terrace Park and then Point Pleasant Park from 1:30-4:00 in the afternoon to make art postcards featuring your favorite places around the HRM. Mail your postcard art to someone special in their special Art Bikers postbox!
