Weekend Wrap-up: May 25-26, 2013

1. It’s time for Kermesse! A rain or shine event, although unfortunately it looks like it will be more rain than shine this year! Kermesse is a Flemish word meaning “Fun Fair.

” It is a wonderful day for children and families, with an auction, fun fair activities, household items and books for sale and more! 2. It’s the Sackville Rivers Association 3rd Annual Bike Rodeo! Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in the RCMP Bike Rodeo to improve their bicycle safety skills and then stay on to enjoy a barbeque, games, prizes, and more. 3. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop at Michaels Kids Club! This Saturday the theme is “Celebrate your Hero”. 4. This May is Astronomy Month at the Discovery Centre! Their digital planetarium will be showcased – allowing visitors to gaze at the stars day and night! This is a great opportunity to introduce children to the universe and appreciate the concept of space! The Speaker Series on Sunday is with Dr. Rob Thacker – How big is the Universe? 5. HRM is going to broadcast the Memorial Cup championship game in Grand Parade on Sunday! Get ready to sport your favourite Halifax Mooseheads jersey one last time this season as people gather in Grand Parade to cheer on their home team in the 2013 Memorial Cup championship game! Go Mooseheads!
