Woman arrested after setting a fire at a Halifax business

Members responded to a fire at the rear loading area of Shoppers Drug Mart located at 5524 Spring Garden Road. Video of the area revealed that a female suspect deliberately set a pile of cardboard boxes on fire. A vehicle, which was parked in the loading area, was moved prior to HRM fire attending and extinguishing the flames.

The female suspect was arrested a short distance from the scene. Minor cosmetic damage to the building was the extent of the damage. A 21-year-old female was charged and will be making a court appearance later today.
