Woman charged after gas station robbery

RCMP has charged a woman in relation to a robbery that occurred early Sunday in Bible Hill.

On July 16 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Colchester County District RCMP, assisted by Truro Police Service, responded to a robbery that had occurred at a gas station on Main St. in Bible Hill. RCMP officers learned that a store employee had been confronted by a woman who claimed to have a gun and was demanding money and cigarettes. The woman fled the gas station on foot with cash and cigarettes.

A description of the woman was provided by the employee and confirmed through video surveillance.

With assistance of Truro Police Dog Services, officers contained the area and began to search for the woman.

At approximately 10 a.m., RCMP officers located and safely arrested a 25-year-old Barss Corner woman nearby.

Christie Ann Zinck has been charged with Robbery and Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.

Zinck was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on July 19, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
