Woman in scooter seriously injured in crosswalk

At 11:05 am police responded to a car pedestrian accident at Thistle St and Victoria Rd in Dartmouth.  A pick-up truck being driven by a 50 year old man was travelling south on Victoria Rd and attempted to make a left hand turn onto Thistle St. A 57 year old female in a three wheeled scooter travelling north, was crossing Thistle St at this intersection in a marked crosswalk. The pick-up truck struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to the QEII Hospital with life threatening injuries. HRP Accident Investigation was called out.  The incident is still under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.
