Woman injured after assault

On February 19 at 6:11 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a call on Brian St. that a woman required medical attention following an assault with a weapon that occurred as she was leaving a friend’s home.

Her friend came outside to check on her and saw that she was bleeding and yelled to his wife to call 911. The man provided first aid to her as they waited for EHS to arrive on scene. Her injuries are serious but not life threatening.

The investigation has been turned over to the Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
