Woman carjacked in Dartmouth

Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 5:40 p.m. officers responded to a weapons call on Yorkshire Avenue. A man with a knife approached a woman in a parking lot. He threatened her, demanded her property, took her vehicle keys, and then fled in her vehicle. The woman was not physically injured.

A short time later, officers located the vehicle and arrested the suspect on Catherine Street in Dartmouth without further incident.

Sean David Ouellet, 40, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Uttering threats
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Robbery with an offensive weapon
  • Mischief (property damage)
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
