Your Inner Skinny is 2!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Your Inner Skinny… Or is it Happy 2nd Anniversary to Your Inner Skinny?  Does a blog have a birthday or an anniversary? Happy Blogiversary? Happy Blogday? Shit… Either way, Happy Day that I decided to start Your Inner Skinny!! I still find it hard to believe that I’ve been blogging, tweeting and facebooking as Your Inner Skinny for two years!!  I’m constantly asked why I started YIS and really the original reason I started it was to keep myself accountable.  I was still struggling with my own weight loss and I needed to make what I was doing something beyond just going to the gym and eating well.  Once I started with the blog I then wanted to make it in to something that I didn’t have back when I started losing my weight. During my own weight loss, I did a lot of reading and research online as to how to and the best way to lose weight.  I wasn’t happy with most of what I read because it was things like; “You need to eat perfectly all the time.”  or  “You can’t drink beer or eat pizza and you have to train at the gym 5-6 days a week.”.  At the time, I believed all of these things because I didn’t know any better.  I’m not saying these things aren’t true, but if you’re just an average Joe or Jane looking to lose weight and not looking to compete in fitness competitions, it’s OK to have a few beer on the weekend and a slice or two of ‘za once every couple of weeks while watching the game.  It’s what keeps you sane! Now that Your Inner Skinny is turning two and still going strong, the thing I sometimes ask myself is “why do I keep doing this?”.  No matter how many times I think about this the answer is always the same… I love helping people! I love the emails and tweets and comments that I get from my readers (you) about how I inspire them and how I’ve helped them and how I influence them.  I have to admit that it’s a bit of a selfish reason because it makes me feel great about myself, but I really do enjoy inspiring and helping others.  This is why I keep Your Inner Skinny going.  Even if I’m just helping one person, that’s more than enough for me! So, at this time, I want to thank YOU, the readers and Twitter followers and Facebook likers for YOUR support over the last two years because you’re the reason I do this and you’re the reason Your Inner Skinny continues on!      ...
