Youth charged after bear spray incident, Halifax, N.S.

RCMP have charged a youth after people were assaulted in Lower Sackville.

Last evening around 8:30 p.m., a 16-year-old youth approached a group of teens at a local park on Walker Avenue.

He demanded the group to give up any items of value . When they refused, the youth sprayed the five people with an irritant determined to be bear spray and ran off. Police located and arrested the suspect on Marie Drive a short time later.

The Sackville teen is facing several Criminal Code charges including Administer a Noxious Substance, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon and Breach of an Undertaking.
