From RCMP:
Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Halifax District were conducting a check point last evening at 11:00 P.M. on Beaver Bank Road and Lakeridge Drive.
A 2003 Chev Impala approached the check point and was stopped for having an expired safety inspection. The driver of the vehicle was unable to provide any documentation on the vehicle. The three males inside the vehicle were asked to exit the vehicle. While outside the vehicle a 17-year-old male youth approached officers and advised them that he stole the vehicle. After further investigation both the licence plate and vehicle were reported to police as stolen.
The 17-year-old youth is being held in custody and will be appearing in Nova Scotia Provincial Youth Court in Halifax later today on charges of Theft Over $5000 (vehicle), and Theft Under $5000 (licence plate).
