It is with great sadness that HRP announces the passing of a member of the Halifax Regional Police family who was killed in a motor vehicle collision last night just outside Truro.

The officer, whose name is not being released at the request of the family, was off duty at the time of the accident.

As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time not only for the officer’s family but for everyone in the Department. HRP asks everyone to respect the family’s privacy as they deal with this tragic loss.

The investigation into the fatal motor vehicle collision is being handled by Colchester RCMP.
