The Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the CIBC located at 18 Parkland Dr. in Halifax.
The call to police was received at 5:27 PM, shortly thereafter Police began to receive calls from members of the public who observed a subject acting in a suspicious manner and fleeing from the area of the bank. With this information Police located the described subject on a bicycle near Knightsridge & Dunbrack. The 43 yr old male subject was arrested for the robbery at 5:40 PM. Recovered at the scene of the arrest in a knapsack was an undisclosed amount of cash and an imitation firearm. There was no one injured during this incident.
Update : A 43 yr old male from the Dartmouth area responsible for the previously mentioned CIBC bank robbery has now also been connected to and will be charged with another bank robbery. That offence occurred on April 27th at the CIBC branch located at 1809 Barrington St. in Halifax. (12-61009). The accused is being charged with robbery and weapon related offences, he is being held and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court in the AM.
