Central Spryfield public meeting round-up

While I was away, one issue that showed up in my inbox a lot was the Nov. 25 meeting where parents and teachers gathered to discuss the review of Central Spryfield School. The school is on the list of schools that may close. Here is the CBC.ca article.  Several parents wrote to me to talk about their disappointment that the school is up for review. One mother wrote: "We bought a house last year in the area and were thrilled to be so close to such a wonderful community based school.  We were devastated to hear that Central Spry is now up for review." I was away on vacation and couldn't be at the meeting, but Paul Bennett of Schoolhouse Consulting was there. He freelanced this article for Openfile Halifax. The Halifax Regional School Board must make a decision on all five schools in March, but even if a school is slated for closure it will take several years for that to happen. ...
