Clearwater Seafoods Named Nova Scotia Exporter of the Year

  Clearwater Seafoods was recognized as the province's top exporter at the 28th Nova Scotia Export Achievement Awards at the World Trade and Convention Centre today, May 15.

 

Clearwater Seafoods was recognized as the province’s top exporter at the 28th Nova Scotia Export Achievement Awards at the World Trade and Convention Centre today, May 15.
 
“Exporting plays an important role in growing our economy,” said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. “On behalf of the province of Nova Scotia, I’d like to congratulate Clearwater Seafoods on this important achievement along with all the other companies for their innovation and success.”
 
Ten other Nova Scotia businesses were also recognized for excellence in exporting.

— Kenney and Ross Limited, Port Saxon, Shelburne Co.
— National Gypsum Canada Ltd., Milford Station, Hants Co.

— Scotian Gold, Coldbrook
— Sissiboo Investments, Weymouth
— TecBox, Rhodes Corner, Lunenburg Co.
 
Darren Zwicker, executive vice-president LED Roadway Lighting Ltd., was the keynote speaker at today’s event, which was attended by more than 250 people.
 
“Clearwater Seafoods and the other export achievement award winners are the kinds of companies NSBI and our partners at ACOA and Economic Rural Development and Tourism work with in markets around the world,” said Stephen Lund president and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc. “We help these companies expand and diversify their markets and identify new customers, distributors and suppliers. Last year, over 200 unique companies participated in our trade missions and programs.”
