Cumberland County RCMP officer wins national MADD award, Amherst, N.S.

An officer with the Amherst RCMP Detachment has won the '2014 Terry Ryan Memorial Award for Excellence in Police Services.' On Saturday September 27th, Cst Travise Dow attended the National Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) conference in Toronto, Ontario.

An officer with the Amherst RCMP Detachment has won the ‘2014 Terry Ryan Memorial Award for Excellence in Police Services.’

On Saturday September 27th, Cst Travise Dow attended the National Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) conference in Toronto, Ontario.

During the banquet, Cst. Dow was awarded this prestigious award for his tireless work to combat impaired driving through enforcement and education.

The Terry Ryan Memorial Award for Excellent in Police Service award recognizes the significant contribution of police services in helping to reduce impaired driving and is presented annually to recognize exemplary service by a police officer in reducing the incidence of impaired driving.

Cst. Dow will be available for media interviews on Thursday October 2nd, 2014 between 10:00 and 12:30 p.m.
