Easy Summer Eats

In case you haven’t noticed, my eats of late have mainly been about three things:

1) Avoiding the oven.
2) Easy to make.
3) Tasty.

It has been SO humid here this past week.  Don’t know what I’d do without a BBQ.    Tonight I grilled up up some beef and served with a cold greek pasta salad that I picked up at Superstore.

The real star of the show was fresh, local corn!!!!! Mmm, I’ve been waiting for this all Summer! 🙂

With melted becel and lots of fresh pepper!

My steak was seasoned with pepper & hickory BBQ sauce.  Juicy, just the way I like it!

The pasta salad was just meh.  Penne, cherry tomatoes, red onions, feta and greek seasonings. I left over half on my plate.

I ate early tonight because we’re going for our second run in the Couch to 5K training plan.  I need to be fully digested or my tummy won’t like me. 😉

I want to talk about the running for a minute.  One of the reasons that I enjoyed our first session so much was that I didn’t wear Mr. PolarWhich meant that I wasn’t constantly looking at our time, calories burnt or my heart rate.  I never realized how distracting wearing the HRM was.  Obviously it’s a great tool (or I wouldn’t have spent $160 on it) but it’s nice to be free of it and just run and listen to my body sometimes.

It sort of makes me want to experiment and leave the iPod home tonight. I’ve never ran free of electronic devices before.

Do you prefer to run with electronics or without?
