At 11:53 hours a fatal motor vehicle accident took place at the
intersection of Craigburn Avenue and the Waverley Road.  A left outbound
turning car on Craigburn pulled out in front of an inbound truck
on Waverley Road.  The vehicle was broadsided and the male driver was
dead at the scene.  The female occupant was taken to hospital with
undetermined injuries.  Both occupants of the truck were shaken up but
otherwise unharmed.

The vehicles have been taken for examination and the incident is under
investigation.
