Favourite Friday – the July 5th edition

L-A: Short weeks are totally the best/worst. Best because I’m already hours away from my weekend. Worst because holy crap, I’m only hours away from my weekend and I need to get some work done.

Anytheway, favourites!

1. Oh hey, Buzzfeed

Like the day Hello Giggles found a picture of Lady Mary from our post, Wednesday was a banner day here at FPQT as we realized someone (okay, a community contributor – but still! someone) at Buzzfeed had found us.

All because Denise Huxtable was one of Intern Krista’s Random Style Icons.

Now if Buzzfeed would like us to promote us from image source to curators of kitten gifs, that’s cool with us. We can even do a list of why “Game of Thrones is really just Sex and the City with dragons.” Wait, Ally did that on Tuesday.

2. I want more of this shirt

The trouble with finding a shirt you love on sale is that there’s a very good chance you will never see this shirt again. So this shirt I mentioned last week?

I’m already feeling the pangs of loss for the day it’s no longer worthy of being a favourite. I want to wear it all the time – and technically I can (what up, home office?) – but I probably shouldn’t if I want it to stay looking good. So I tried to buy another, maybe in a different pattern, but to no avail. Anthropologie is all, “sorry, better luck next time. How about a $90 blouse instead?”

3. I’m trying to decide if this will be horrible or awesome.

I do have all the love Sandra Bullock and I’m 85% a fan of Melissa McCarthy (sometimes I just don’t love the movies/TV shows she chooses. But I guess Shakespeare got to get paid, yo). And I like the idea of a lady cop buddy comedy (you don’t see many of these with the ladies, so thumbs up to that). But I’m a bit worried the trailer is going to have all the good jokes and I’m paying $10 to see the story that connects the jokes. Thoughts? Anyone else going to see this one?

4. Weddings!!

Can we just take a moment to raise a toast to our summer wedding friends?

I love it when my Facebook feed is suddenly full of ladies in the prettiest dresses. It’s like my Facebook becomes the red carpet at the Oscars. Shout outs to Lauren (who co-hosted Oscar parties with us) on her killer dress and my co-worker, Jenn. Y’all looked amahzing.

I totally want another wedding. Not a different husband, just another wedding. I want a Pinterest board, Martha Stewart Weddings magazine and a brand new fancy dress and shoes. Might have to throw one for the 10th wedding anniversary. You know, like Mariah Carey.

5. Happy Birthday to our Favourite/First Male Reader!

Martin was probably among the first to read the blog and he brings us Vogues from Australia. Which is why he’s the favourite and gets this birthday shout out. I could share something I know he enjoys from the Great Gatsby, but I’ll stick with tradition and include an Australian pop star (I believe last year was Australian-raised country music recording artist Keith Urban):

6. And finally, this ad is just adorable.

I’m so glad this ad didn’t exist when I was 21. It would be just one more unrealistic thing for me to set as a standard for a normal and healthy relationship. RomComs ruin us, I swear to god they do.
